The Barcelona Chair is one of the most recognizable objects of the last century and an icon of the modern movement. It is a tribute to the combination of design and craftsmanship.
FEATURES
A distinctive KnollStudio design, produced to Mies’ original specifications. Exclusive manufacturing and sales rights were granted to Knoll by the designer in 1953.
The KnollStudio logo and Mies van der Rohe’s signature are stamped into the base of each chair.
CONSTRUCTION
Polished chrome structure, hand-polished and hand-finished to a mirror-smooth finish.
Cushions are upholstered with 40 individual panels that are cut, hand-stitched and hand-tufted from a single skin.
Seat and back cushions adjust to the curvature of the frame.
Side and edges of the upholstery straps are dyed to match the specified color of the upholstery.
FINISHES
Available in a range of Spinneybeck leathers.
The frame is available in polished chrome. This product is available with foam that meets the requirements for BS5852.
