The so-called “Eiffel Tower Base” of the chair DSR (Dining Height Side Chair Rod Base), a complex and elegant construction made of steel wire, combines light, elegant forms with structural strength. The organically shaped shell made of post-consumer recycled plastic is available in a variety of colors and upholstery options, allowing this Charles and Ray Eames classic to be adapted to a wide range of individual needs and preferences.

Material Description

Seat shell: thoroughly colored, recycled polypropylene, 100% recyclable. All models are available with a seat cushion (bolted to the seat shell) or full upholstery. The variant with full upholstery consists of a molded polyurethane foam upholstery covered with fabric and attached to the seat shell with piping. Various colors of shell and upholstery and different bases offer plenty of room for combining.
Please note that due to the composition of the recycled material, the colors of the seat shell show very subtle pigment specks.
Options: the Eames Plastic Chair RE is available as a visitor chair, dining chair, rocking chair, swivel chair or as a stackable version with brackets to link the chairs together in rows. Seats on traverses are suitable for waiting areas.
Base: non-stackable wire base with braces and four legs. (DSR = Dining Height Side Chair Rod Base)
Outdoor use: version without upholstery, with powder-coated base, suitable for temporary or seasonal outdoor use, according to maintenance instructions. After prolonged exposure to the elements, you should clean the seat cushions and store them in a dry, sheltered place to ensure long-lasting use and to keep the cushions looking their best.
