Charles & Ray Eames, 1950

The model Charles and Ray Eames designed the LTR (Low Table Rod Base) in 1950 as a small, versatile side table and used it in many ways in their own Eames House.  

Material Description
  • Wooden table top: solid oiled wood, natural or dark stained oak with a protective natural lacquer finish, or oiled American walnut.
  • Origin of wood: oak (Quercus robur) from Western Europe and/or Poland; American walnut (Juglans nigra) from the USA.
  • HPL table top: plywood core, high-pressure laminate surface.
  • Gold leaf table top: plywood core, gold leaf surface with transparent coating.
  • Marble table top: Carrara marble (Italy).
  • Base: steel wire, chromed or powder coated.
